:: Damacus 1911s
Nighthawk Custom Damascus 1911s are not new, but they absolutely deserve a mention. For those who are not already aware, the slides are produced by Caspian Arms, a long term and well respected manufacturer of custom 1911 parts.

:: Holiday Instructional Video
I know, I know, I know I said Guns and Shooting Stuff, not Zombie Stuff but here is a little holiday cheer to kick things off, given the time of year I am starting this thing...and the fact that it is really funny. And for the record, as with all things Zombie, it does have guns in it as well. Many thanks to my awesome wife for this one.
:: Where to begin...?
I'm not sure where to start, so I'm just going to dump a little stream of consciousness here.
I love guns. I love shooting, collecting, cleaning, modifying, customizing, learning about, and so on and so forth....guns. I love beautiful walnut stocks, damascus and rosewood 1911s, evil black rifles, .22 rimfires, .50 BMGs, polymer pistols, riot guns, historical military weapons, just to name a few. I love a lot of other things as well, not the least of which is my beautiful wife - who luckily for me also appreciates guns and shooting, if not nearly as obsessively as I do.
This blog, however, is going to be about...you guessed it, guns and shooting stuff. I felt the need to include "and shooting" in the name of this blog because some people are really into guns - but not so much into shooting them, just as some people are really into guitars - but not so much into playing them, and some people are really into motorcycles - but not so much into actually riding them, etc. I do not mean to cast a disparaging light on collectors, but I like to use my stuff, as well as admire it.
Guns were one of the first things I researched on the old bulletin boards and the fledgling internet, when it was all still new, and my internet quest for all things firearms related continues to this day. From alt.guns, to the hive, to The Firearm Blog, this has led me to a lot of widely varied websites, forums, blogs, etc. Some of these destinations have been, well, let's just say interesting. Go looking for gun stuff on the internet and you'll find everything from politics to zombies, and that's long before you ever wander off on related tangents...as I often tend to do.
So here we go, into the realm of "Guns and Shooting Stuff", according to one reasonably obsessed and somewhat musically inclined independent geek in the deep south, and I hope someone else enjoys this as much as I am planning to.
